Plan around the source of the sound
Sound insulation begins by understanding where and under which conditions a noise occurs. Road noise, door vibration and sounds from the luggage area can have different causes. The assessment also identifies any mechanical issues that would benefit from technical servicing before insulation is planned. The initial assessment considers suitable areas such as doors, the floor, roof, luggage compartment or wheel arch surroundings.
Work with the vehicle structure
Insulation materials are fitted only in areas considered suitable, taking account of existing trim and mounting points. Work inside doors, beneath the floor or around the roof varies by vehicle model. Necessary removal and refitting of trim form part of the plan. Drainage paths, wiring routes and moving parts need to remain functional so that the treatment works with everyday use.
Assess the finished result
After installation, trim and connections are checked and the cabin’s sound character is reviewed. The change is assessed in relation to the vehicle’s original sound character, construction and the specific areas included in the treatment. Tyres, door seals or mechanical components may still need separate servicing. Your dealer can explain the proposed scope and any related maintenance needs before work begins.
