Understand the corrosion condition
Corrosion prevention planning starts with inspecting the underbody, chassis surroundings and suitable metal areas. Zones exposed to moisture, road salt and trapped dirt receive particular attention. Surface rust differs from advanced corrosion that has caused metal loss. Protective coating alone may be insufficient where structural damage exists, which is why checking the condition before and after cleaning is an important part of the assessment.
Preparation and protective treatment
Dirt and loose deposits are removed using suitable methods. Areas needing pretreatment are identified and a product compatible with the surface is selected. Moving, hot or functional components that should not be coated are taken into account. Drying requirements form part of the plan. The purpose is to support maintenance of suitable surfaces, rather than conceal existing damage beneath a coating without explaining its limits.
The role of regular checks
Protective care is supported by regular surface checks and suitable cleaning throughout the vehicle’s use. Impacts, stone marks, trapped contamination and heavy salt exposure can affect the treated surface. Appropriate underbody cleaning and periodic inspection remain important. Your dealer can explain the areas treated, use conditions and check requirements. New rust marks or coating damage should be assessed promptly so that any further maintenance follows the actual condition.
