A journey built on a family passion
Mustafa and Erkan Mumcu’s entrepreneurial approach grew from their father Hayrettin Mumcu’s passion for cars. The journey started in 1989 at the 700 m² Öğretmenler Car Wash and Care Service in Erenköy, Istanbul. Bringing cleaning together with paint care and surface protection became the foundation of the brand’s development.
Product knowledge meets application expertise
CarWAX Car Care Systems was established in 1995. Paint care, protection and cleaning developed into a broader range of applications. Formulations developed through the work of American and Turkish engineers supported the brand’s product manufacturing and chemical supply activities. Our approach is to understand the surface, select a suitable product and plan each application carefully.
A network built around shared working standards
The first franchise centre opened in 2002. Location, trained staff and technical support are central to the CarWAX partnership model. Teams receive guidance on products and equipment. Centre visits, digital business tools and customer feedback help the network review and develop the service experience.
Looking ahead
We aim to reach more vehicle owners in Türkiye and international markets. Our vision of a CarWAX centre in every province and the stated target of 190 centres by 2030 form part of that ambition. Plans for a training academy also reflect our intention to share practical knowledge and support the sector’s need for skilled people.
