Plan the paint system for the surface
Metal, timber and fibreglass areas on a vessel do not need identical painting methods. Existing paint adhesion, wear and the working conditions of the area are inspected. Applying new paint without preparation does not resolve problems underneath. Cleaning, removal of unsuitable old coatings and any surface correction are therefore assessed first, rather than recommending one paint system for every part of the boat.
From preparation to the finishing coat
Suitable areas are cleaned and controlled sanding or other preparation is carried out where needed. Primer and paint selection follow substrate compatibility, with intervals between coats based on the selected product. Any finishing coat or additional protection is stated in the scope. The aim is an even coating, with any necessary repairs considered as part of the preparation plan before the new finish is applied.
Maintain care around actual use
After marine surface work, regular condition checks remain important. Salt deposits, sunlight, contact and cleaning habits can influence the result. Ask your dealer to explain the treated areas, appropriate care products and any conditions before returning the vessel to use. If new marks, wear or damage appear, reassessment is preferable to aggressive treatment and helps identify a suitable next step for that surface.
